Just want karlsson to nab a point in the upcoming game, so he can have a PPG record on the season.

I expect them to lose though, boston has a lot to play for.

Wanted to start a discussion on our needs in the off season. The biggest and most realistic talk seems to be of finding another top 6, but theres also talk of moving Hoffman. Seems very counterintuitive to me. Also, we should have Mac back for next year, which is is about the same as adding a top 6. They showed last night Ottawa is one of 5 teams to have 5 20 goal scorers, and we were among some decent company (Chi, Dal, Washington... Cant remember for sure).
To me, our top 6 is not the issue. Another top 6 would be nice but that can be said for every team in the league. I would be more interested in adding some solid third line guys and have a proven 5/6 defence combo. The rotating of AHL players has to stop. With Dion for a full year, and Ceci taking a step forward, having at least one proven, solid 5 D would go a long way.

*Note: I know the dream pick up is a #1 centre but I don't see that happening.

For how long? I like him as a player but he has some real injury issues. If he gets another concussion I would not be surprised if he retired.

I would agree that the defense should be an area of concern. I would not be surprised if a big trade happens in the off season.

Possibly centered around trading hoffman. Not something I'd necessarily advocate, but I could see it happening as he's an asset that would get some return.

This is one of the main reasons as to why they won't trade Hoffman IMO. By all accounts Mac is one bad collision away from retiring. Melnyk is dumb but even he's not stupid enough to move him under those circumstances unless he has went to management and said I have zero interest in signing a long term deal with Ottawa

That's one reason. Leading the team in goals scored for the past two seasons would be another solid reason in my mind.

I normally cheer for them to lose now for drafting reasons, BUT, a win over Boston likely cements them firing Julien and hopefully Ottawa would snatch him up!

How about packaging up Hoffman and Puemple for Duchene?

Then flipping Zibanejad to someone for another top 6 winger...

I still think they should be moving Lazar while he has any value. People probably still see him as a prospect would good potential... but man, he will be no more than a fringe 3rd liner I think... Ottawa rushed him, and he just doesn't stand out at all.

Drafting guys in the top 20 to play on a 3rd/4th line is a ridiculous mindset. Its one thing if they bust on their own, but if this is what you think he is, thats a waste of a pick.

We're going to have to reign in our expectations with Chabot. He didn't even make the 1st All-Star team as a 19 year old in the Q. I don't imagine he sees any NHL action for a few years.

I think Chabot and Travis Sanheim are kind of alike. They have talent but they still need time. Might even need a full AHL year. Possibly year and half. They can do things in junior because they are just so much more talented but need to find was to play to their strengths in the pro game.

He was nominated for the Emile-Bouchard Trophy for top dman though. Lost out to Samuel Girard.

Of course. He's a great talent and will only get better.

Far too many that automatically assume he's getting dealt this off season. However, based on how he's been handled by Cameron I wouldn't be suprised if he's not too keen on signing a long term deal. You couple that with Macs questionable future and he has all the leverage in the negotiations.

Why would we want to move Zibby? I don't mind seeing what you might get for Lazar but 93 is a hell of a player. If he can come into camp in better shape and not have such god awful starts he could be another 60 pt player for the Sens

I think what this team needs one or two 'vets' to play in the T9 and ot the B2 d pairing tto show the kids how to prepare for games and play more consistently. Guys with cup winning experience.

They need the same in the coaching ranks. We can score, but they need to be taught how to, and why to play 'the right way' every game.

I agree, offensively this team is very talented. It's just the fact they have no structure on D. Bringing in one solid veteran in D would be nice. I really don't want to see Boroweicki getting minutes as a top-6, he's a 7th D at best. Same goes for a player like Neil. You play these guys as extras during rivalry games. I think Nick Paul is lock for next year. I wouldn't mind seeing him in the top-6 if MacArthur is out.

Moving two wingers for a center is a bad idea, espcially since we have Turris, Zib, and Pageau in the books. White is on his way to the pros. Why do you want to trade Hoffman. He is as good as Duchene.

I agree with hiring Julien if he is available. He has the right temperament for the Ottawa market.

Anyone else a little suspicious about Ryan playing last night and playing so hard? He looked like he wanted to be a difference maker. Like he cared about a win.

I wonder if he wanted to play one last game in front of the home fans? Because he wants out or is this one those things where he can do it for 1 game as a 'I showed them'

Anyways, thought it was weird he wanted to be a leader last night - makes me suspicious

He's the face of the franchise and just donated $10 million to a children's hospital. He isn't going anywhere for a looong time.

There's rumor circulating.

But I don't know how much stock we can put in to them.

I wouldn't be so sure. He doesn't have a NMC, and Bergevin has put his support behind Therrien. Now I don't know if there is any truth the the rumor of a problem between Subban and Therrien, but I wouldn't discount a move.

However, what I WOULD say is that the odds are against him moving. Galchenyuk though..
